A single father mourns the loss of his son in the aftermath of a mass shooting.
Daniel Smith lived a life of seclusion in his small Michigan town when his son is gunned down in a mass shooting. As Daniel comes to grips with the tragedy, he wants to mourn quietly in his own way when a conspiracy theorists asks questions. How do you grieve when you're haunted by ghosts and harassed by monsters?
Henry Perkins is a burgeoning conspiracy theorist with a podcast and modest following. He's toured the country spreading misinformation to gain a larger following. He tests Daniel's mettle by antagonizing him and digging into his past. He calls into question the shooting and whether or not Daniel was a father.
Secrets come out that call Daniel's history into question, sowing doubt and confirming the worst to Henry's following.
Daniel's pushed to the brink as he attempts to hold it together, mourning for his lost son, but Henry's relentless pursuit interrupts the grieving process pushing him further to the extremes to get Henry to stop.
